Find out about the details of the XXV Binational Games that will take place in the Valparaíso Region.

The tournament, organized by both Chile and Argentina and taking place between May 8th and 13th, contemplates 10 disciplines and will be a test before the Pan American and Para Pan American Games.

The year 2023 will be an extremely important one for Chilean sports, especially because of the Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games. The upcoming months will be filled with important events that will help everyone to prepare for the largest multisport festival in the Americas.

In this context, the Valparaíso Region will host the XXV Andean Integration Binational Games, which will be held between Monday 8th and Saturday 13th in May. 

This traditional tournament is organized by both Argentina and Chile. On it, representatives of 10 different disciplines will gather, among which we can mention: 

  • Athletics

  • Basketball

  • Taekwondo

  • Volleyball

  • Handball

  • Swimming

  • Table Tennis

  • Roller Hockey

  • Cycling

This competition will be useful to test some spaces that will be used as venues for Santiago 2023. This way, it’ll be six the number of districts that will host Binational Games competitions: 

  • Valparaíso

  • Viña del Mar

  • Quilpué

  • Villa Alemana

  • Concón

  • Puchuncaví

  • Casablanca

It’ll be the fourth time this region receives a competition. Previously Valparaíso and its surroundings organized the first version of the Binationals in 1998, aside from the 2006 and 2014 editions.

PAN AMERICAN GAMES IN THE VALPARAÍSO REGION

The coastal region of the center area of Chile will receive a number of disciplines and sports during the Pan American and Parapan American Games. In total, it’ll be seven competitions that will be hosted here, some of which will also host the Binational Games in May. 

In particular, Viña del Mar and Valparaíso will both be host cities in the two sport events. In Santiago 2023, the first of them, known as “Ciudad Jardín” (Garden City), will host male football, handball, and triathlon, while the latter, known was the “Ciudad Puerto” (Port City) will host female football matches.
