DO YOU KNOW THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE PAN AMERICAN AND THE PARAPAN AMERICAN GAMES?
Below we present to you the main differences between the Santiago 2023 Pan American and Parapan American Games.
The Pan American Games are an international multisport event that will host more than 6,916 Pan American athletes from 41 countries. This is equivalent to the Olympic Games and its program is composed of 39 sports and 60 disciplines.
On the other hand, the Parapan American Games are equivalent to the Paralympic Games. In this sport event we’ll receive 1,927 Para athletes from 33 countries of the Americas with different disability levels (physical, visual or intellectual) that will compete in 17 sports and 18 disciplines, and they will seek to add points to classify to Paris 2024.
Chile will receive the nineteenth edition of the Pan American Games and the seventh edition of the Parapan American Games.
The Pan American Games will start on October 20th with the Opening Ceremony and they will end on November 5th. Meanwhile, the Parapan American Games will be held from November 17th to 26th.
In spite of the differences between the Pan American and the Parapan American Games, #Santiago2023 will join both of them together, because they share three important things: they seek to be a breath of fresh air and to be #OurMeetingPoint for all Chileans, and leave a material and immaterial legacy for Chile.
