The beginning of the South American Beach Volleyball Circuit, a tour that gives points for the South American ranking, a qualifier for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games, was held in Rancagua, Chilean city located 10 km south of the capital.
In the male category the title stayed in Chilean territory. The Asunción 2022 gold medalist, cousins Esteban and Marco Grimalt, won 2-0 (22-20 and 21-14) against the Argentinians Nicolás and Tomás Capogrosso, thus repeating the South American Games results.
“In the finals we faced a rival team with whom we have competed a lot before and these have always been tough challenges, which was particularly noticeable in the first set. We were able to react in time because of the support of the people, obtaining this important South American first place” indicated Esteban Grimalt.
The winners will continue their campaign in Qatar to face the finals of the World Circuit between Wednesday 26th and Sunday 29th alongside with the best duos of the globe.
