STUDENTS FROM THE SEVENTH AND EIGHTH GRADE OF THE LICEO REPUBLICA ARGENTINA, IN THE DISTRICT OF LOS ANDES, PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST ACTIVITY OF THIS PROGRAM LED BY PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHERS.

Tuesday, December 6, 2022.- The Education Program continues working with schools in different districts of the country, where #Santiago2023 seeks to promote the Pan American and Parapan American Games. In this context, the students of the Liceo Republica Argentina participated in a sports class, led by high school teachers, who used methodologies focused on hearing and visual impairment.

For this, students practiced sports blindfolded, developing activities together with their classmates such as getting to know the goal ball and learning to differentiate this ball from a conventional one.

The director of the school, Freddy Aguero, commented that "we have a course where we work on inclusion skills, and with this activity the students realized that it is very important to develop these experiences and interact with other types of impairments.”

While one of the guide teachers, Ivan Espinoza, stated that “the objective of this activity is to sensitize students so that they can demonstrate what Paralympic sports are. Here they worked in couples and received instructions and perceptions through hearing and touch”.

Finally, the teacher Carlos Torres highlighted that “we hope that in the future our students will be able to participate and demonstrate these disciplines, experiencing some competitions.”

In this way, the fourth session was carried out. There are 3 meetings left, which will be held before the end of 2022 with the objective to strengthen the inclusive, diverse and sustainable training of teachers, children and adolescents in the country.
