Daniel Rodrigues Secures Bronze for Brazil in Wheelchair Tennis

The South American athlete won a challenging match against the American Casey Ratzlaff in Santiago 2023.

Saturday, November 25th, 2023.- The bronze medal match in wheelchair tennis at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games showcased a high-level competition. Brazilian Daniel Rodrigues (ranked 20th in the world) faced off against American Casey Ratzlaff (ranked 14th globally), delivering a thrilling three-set battle. 

Taking place at the Court Central of the Estadio Nacioal, Rodrigues secured victory with a close score of 6-3, 6-7 (3), and 6-3, after two hours and 40 minutes of intense play. The key factor in Rodrigues' favor was his second serve, allowing him to win 67% of the points played, compared to Ratzlaff's 41%. 

With this win, Daniel Rodrigues clinched the bronze medal and advanced to the grand final, where he will face off against the Argentine Gustavo Fernández (ranked 3rd) and the Chilean Alexander Cataldo (ranked 13th).
