Saturday, November 25th, 2023.- Brazil is the leading country in Parapan American sports competitions and is proving it in Santiago 2023, where it tops the medal table with 287 medals (132 gold, 75 silver, 80 bronze) with a significant lead over the second-placed United States, accumulating 138 medals (45, 50, 43).
And it will continue to add gold medals this Saturday because it has already secured three in the SL3-SU5 Para badminton mixed doubles and in the female singles SL3 and SL4 categories.
This is because early in the day, the pair formed by Yuki Rodrigues and Adriane Ávila secured their spot in the final by defeating Peru's Jenni Ventocilla and Renzo Bances 2-0. Meanwhile, in the other bracket, the also Brazilian pair Eduarda and Rogeiro Oliveira won by the same score against the Mexican duo Maria Guadalupe Rojas and Maximiliano Ávila.
Both pairs will face off after 3:30 p.m. at the Ñuñoa Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico.
The other two gold medals will come in the individual female competition in the SL3 category, where Abinaecia Silva and Kauana Beckenkamp will compete; and also in the SL4 category, where Edwarda Oliveira and Ana Carolina Reis will vie for the top spot.
