Friday, November 24th, 2023.- A new team has secured a spot for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, as the United States conquered the final of female's wheelchair basketball and will be in France next year.
At the Polideportivo 1, the U.S. quintet took advantage of their favoritism and won the final against Canada in an exciting match that had a thrilling last quarter.
From the start, it was evident that the duel would be closely contested at the Ñuñoa court, and indeed, the champions prevailed with a narrow 65-56 victory, despite the pressure from the Canadian team in the final moments.
The standout player on the court was Lindsey Zurbrugg, who contributed 17 points to the winning team. This concludes women's wheelchair basketball, with the podium featuring the United States, Canada, and Brazil, respectively.
