The U.S. Adds Gold and Bronze in Female's Long Jump at Santiago 2023

The competition, held at the Centro Atlético Mario Recordón, saw Brazil clinch the silver medal.

Friday, November 24th, 2023.- The American athlete Beatriz Hatz secured the gold medal in the female's long jump T42/T44/T61-64 class (physical disability in lower limbs, with and without prosthetics) in the Para athletics competition at Santiago 2023, achieving a distance of 5.09 meters (676 points) on her third jump.

Hatz, competing in the T64 category, confirmed her favoritism in this event, entering with a season's best of 5.50 meters.

The silver medal went to the Brazilian representative, Ana Claudia da Silva (T42), who reached a distance of 3.85 meters (576 points) in her best jump.

The bronze was claimed by Catherine Carey (T44) from the United States, who recorded a distance of 4.55 meters (392 points) on her fifth jump, repeating her third-place finish from Lima 2019.
