Argentina Wins Dramatic Match Against Chile in Tennis Doubles

The duo of Ezequiel Casco and Gustavo Fernández defeated the local pair of Alexander Cataldo and Brayan Tapia in the semifinals.

Thursday, November 23rd, 2023.- A thrilling match unfolded at the Court Central of the Estadio Nacional, where Argentina secured a spot in the wheelchair tennis doubles final by defeating Chile. 

Argentinians Ezequiel Casco and Gustavo Fernández are now poised for gold at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games after overcoming the home team of Alexander Cataldo and Brayan Tapia. 

The contest was tightly contested in the Ñuñoa commune, and the victors even fought back from two match points down to win 6-1, 0-6, and 11-9 in an intense battle lasting an hour and 14 minutes. 

Casco and Fernández will now face off against the Brazilian duo of Gustavo Carneiro and Daniel Rodrigues in the final. Carneiro and Rodrigues defeated Americans Casey Ratzlaff and Conner Straoud 1-6, 6-2, and 10-5. Meanwhile, Ratzlaff and Straoud will be the opponents of the Chilean pair in the bronze medal match.
