Para Archery: Gold Medal for Brazil in Male's Category

Eugenio Franco claimed the top spot at Santiago 2023, leaving American Jason Tabansky with the silver medal. The bronze went to Chilean Víctor Saiz.

Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023.- The second gold medal up for grabs this Wednesday in Para archery was secured by Brazil at the Centro de Tiro con Arco in Peñalolén. 

Brazilian para-athlete Eugenio Franco scored 135 points, securing the first position and surpassing American Jason Tabansky, who reached 123 points, in the battle for gold. 

The bronze medal went to Chilean Víctor Saiz with 115 points, just four points more than those achieved in his duel with American Lucas Herro. 

Earlier in the day, American Tracy Otto claimed the female's gold medal with a score of 101, leaving Chilean Mariela López in second place with the silver medal after scoring 83 points. 

On this Wednesday, the seventh day of competitions at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, Para archery also includes several other events: compound open female, compound open male, recurve open female, and recurve open male. 

It's important to note that the W1 category in this discipline includes archers with moderately limited coordination, very limited range of movement, or limb absence.
