Archery: Mexico Earns Bronze in Mixed Recurve

The Mexican team secured the bronze medal with a narrow 5-3 victory over the Colombian team.

Sunday, November 5th, 2023.- In the discipline of archery, specifically in the recurve bow category, Mexico claimed the bronze medal in the mixed team final held at the Centro de Tiro con Arco.

Alejandra Valencia and Matías Grande established their lead with partial scores of 39, 35, 39, and 40 in the four rounds, totaling 153 arrows. Meanwhile, Colombia posted partial scores of 37, 38, 39, and 38, with a final count of 152 arrows.

In this manner, the Mexican mixed team accumulated 5 set points (2-0-2-1), whereas Colombia earned only 3 points (0-2-1-0).

A recurve bow in archery is a bow with limbs that curve away from the archer when unstrung. This type of bow is similar to traditional bows, but the key difference lies in the fact that only the limbs (ends) have a double curve, which increases the bow's power and provides a smoother shot.
