Saturday 4th November 2023.- Brazil is concluding a historic performance in rhythmic gymnastics at the 2023 Pan American Games. The South American giant claimed victory in all seven competitions, amassing an equal number of gold medals, pending the closing ceremony this evening, which includes the specialty of three ribbons and two balls.
In this context, one of the standout performers was the young María Eduarda Alexandre, who added her second individual gold in clubs today, along with a silver in ribbon. She had already secured the gold in hoop and the bronze in the all-around competition on Friday at the Centro de Deportes Colectivos at the Estadio Nacional.
Not bad for the 16-year-old who made her debut at the senior Pan American level. "I did the best I could. The competition was very tiring, four days, and today I did my best, and gave it my all. After competing, I felt fatigued almost immediately, but I was very satisfied with my two routines and the result," said one of the crowd favorites.
"I've been training since 2021 for the (Junior) Pan American Championship at Cali, and this year we started preparing for my first year at the senior Pan American level. We practiced four very tough routines to get to this point and achieve these results," emphasized "Duda."
Meanwhile, Bárbara Domingos also made her mark by securing gold in the individual ribbon and silver in hoop, adding to her gold medals in the all-around and individual ball, as well as silver in clubs. "I'm very happy. I gave my all in my two routines today. It was four very intense days of competition. I was more tired today, but I think I managed to showcase my work."
"I believe the tournament was very positive. The medals and results are the outcome of our training, but the most important thing was to demonstrate what we can do," concluded "Baby."
