Friday, November 3rd, 2023.- United States is on the hunt for another gold medal, aiming to add to its impressive haul at the Pan American Games Santiago 2023.

The North American powerhouse has reached the softball final, where it will face off against Puerto Rico, who secured the last spot in the Super Round.

The island team advanced to the championship match after defeating Mexico in a tight 1-0 contest at Parque Cerrillos.

"We have already faced the United States, and we know they are the number 1 team in the world. We are aware it will be a tough game. We trust in each other, and we will fight with everything we have to try and win the gold for our country," said Puerto Rican Janelle Martínez after the victory.

The softball competition at Santiago 2023 concludes on Saturday with the bronze medal match between Mexico and Canada starting at 10:00 a.m, while the United States and Puerto Rico will compete for gold at 2:00 p.m.
