Softball: The United States Defeats Canada and Advances to the Gold Medal Match

The American team secured their spot in the final by beating Canada 8-3, while the Canadians still have a chance depending on the result of the Super Round's last game between Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Friday, November 3rd, 2023.- The United States became the first finalist in the female's softball competition held at Cerrillos Park, defeating Canada 8-3 in their second Super Round match.

The American team had already made a strong debut earlier on the same Friday, winning 11-3 against Puerto Rico in the tournament's top-four round. These two victories guaranteed their place in the gold medal match, while the Canadian team still has a chance. Canada had defeated Mexico 6-1 the day before, and now their fate hinges on the result of the match this afternoon between the Mexican and Puerto Rican teams.

In the game against Canada, the score was tied at 3-3 until the third inning. However, in the fourth and fifth innings, the United States took a clear lead with two runs in each, eventually securing an 8-3 victory in the sixth inning.

On Saturday, the United States will compete for the gold against either Mexico, Puerto Rico, or Canada, while the other two teams will battle for the bronze.
