Athletics, golf, basketball, and triathlon shine on Thursday at Santiago 2023

With just four days remaining in the Pan American Games, the multi-sport programming will be centered at Estadio Nacional, the Prince of Wales Country Club, and the coast of Viña del Mar.

Thursday, November 2nd.- Athletics takes the lead in Thursday's agenda in a new day of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. From 5:00 p.m. at the Coliseo del Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez, nine competitions are scheduled to award medals. 

Starting at 5:30 PM local time, women will compete in pole vault, shot put, 5000m, triple jump, 200m, and the 4 x 100m relay, while the men will participate in the 1500m, 200m, and the 4 x 100m relay. 

Male's basketball will offer continuous action at the Polideportivo 1 at Estadio Nacional starting at 10:30 a.m, marking the end of the preliminary phase with the following matches: Argentina vs. Dominican Republic, Panama vs. Venezuela, Brazil vs. Puerto Rico, and Chile vs. Mexico. 

Fencing will contribute with medals in team sword and fleuret, both for male and female at the Centro de Deportes Paralímpicos. Golf will capture attention at the Prince of Wales Country Club in La Reina, with the first round for both female and male starting at 8:00 a.m. Wrestling will determine champions in five weight categories at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico in Villa Frei. 

The Centro Deportivo de Hockey Césped will host the female's semi-finals starting at 5:30 p.m, while the Centro Acuático will award medals to the champions of the free routine duets starting at 1:00 p.m. 

Lastly, Playa El Sol in Viña del Mar will come alive with the triathlon for both female and male, scheduled for 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. respectively. The course will pass through San Martín, 1 Norte, Marina, España, and Cerro Castillo, just meters from the Presidential Palace. The finish line will be next to the Vergara Pier in the “Ciudad Jardín.”
