As a good sign for the reactivation of the national sport and the development of its main athletes, the return of some competitions was received, especially athletics in different parts of the country. This is how in Coronel, long-distance runner Carlos Días made a mark of 14.04.72 in the 5000 meters, an athlete who was happy to return to the tracks, as he declared to ADN radio: “Very happy to have returned to the competitions here in Chile, where I had not competed since the beginning of 2019, so happy to return with a victory and this 2021 also looks hopeful. The tournament could be organized in the best way, there were no problems with the protocol ”.
Along the same lines, Carlos stressed that there are still elements to be polished if, for example, international meetings such as the Orlando Guaita Grand Prix are to be held in April and invite foreign athletes: "International competitions do not stop, we must start in Chile to capture more important international tournaments."
In the weekend competitions were held in three regions of the country, in a line that is inserted within the Olympic cycle for those athletes who are still trying to achieve marks for the Olympic Games and also aiming to Santiago 2023. Thus little by little, and with the great advance of vaccination in Chile, sports competitions begin to resume their usual rhythm.
