In Paralympic sport, one of the most prominent Chilean representatives in recent years has been Amanda Cerna. The runner comes from getting gold and bronze medals at the Tunis Grand Prix tournament.
“For the qualification to the Paralympic Games, I already meet the minimum marks in the 200 and 400-meter events. Another requirement is to be within the top ten in the world ranking, where I also meet these same distances, "said the sprinter in Women to Sports on ADN radio.
Amanda announced that she has already secured tickets to the world's largest sporting event. “The competition where I participated in Tunisia was the last to make marks and qualify for Tokyo. Everything is ready and I am waiting for it to be made official”, she said.
At the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Amanda took a great fourth place in the 400 meters. On improving this achievement, the athlete confessed that “there is always the hope. I think it will be a very nice and tight race with my competitors, so I will give everything to better represent my country ”.
The 22-year-old national athlete also sets her sights on the Parapan American Games to be held in Chile. “I think it will be wonderful, I think about it and it is like a dream to be at home, with the audience and the family supporting you. I am already dreaming of Santiago 2023 ”, she added.
Before the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games kick off, the Paralympic athlete will have two competitions in May. She will be at the Grand Prix in Paris and in Switzerland.
