Sunday, october 29nd, 2023.- The United States defeated Brazil 5-1 and secured their spot in the men's field hockey semifinals at Santiago 2023.
The standout player for the North American team was Aki Kaeppeler, who scored four of their five goals. The other goal was scored by Kai Kokolakis, while Joaquín López scored Brazil's consolation goal.
With this victory, the United States finished in second place in Group B and will face the current Pan American champions, the Argentine team, in the quest for the gold medal.
The winner of Group B was Canada, and they await their opponent in the semifinals, which will be determined by the match between Chile and Mexico played on this Sunday.
Meanwhile, Brazil will compete for places fifth to eighth.
