Complete Equestrian Eventing: Gold for Canada and the United States

American Caroline Pamukcu claimed victory in the individual category, while the Canadians took the top spot on the podium for the eventing teams ahead of the United States and Brazil

Sunday, October 29, 2023.- The United States and Canada secured gold medals in the complete equestrian eventing, which concluded on Sunday at the Regimiento Granaderos in Quillota, located 100 kilometers from Santiago. This event offered qualification spots for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Following the show jumping competition, the last phase of the event, the individual gold was awarded to American rider Caroline Pamukcu. The silver medal went to Brazilian rider Jorge Carvalho, and the bronze was claimed by Canadian rider Lindsay Traisnel.

The highest-placed Chilean rider was Jaime Bittner, finishing in 23rd place.

In the team competition, where the scores of four riders are combined, Canada took home the gold medal, the United States won the silver, and Brazil secured the bronze. Mexico finished in fourth place, followed by Argentina in fifth, Uruguay in sixth, Chile in seventh, and Colombia in eighth.

The final equestrian discipline in Santiago 2023 will be the jumping competition, scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 3.
