The sports legacy comprises three main objectives: to bring physical activity and sports practice closer to the community; to encourage people to live active and promote healthy lifestyles; and to strengthen Chile's ability to host, organize, and produce major sporting events in the country.
Encouraging active and healthy lifestyles within the community through physical activity and sports practice.
SPORTING EQUIPMENT
Both the Corporation and the National Sports Institute (IND, by its acronym in Spanish) are making significant efforts to provide all Pan American and Parapan American sports with the best sporting equipment in the world. Our LNS area is working on a plan so that once the Games are over, all this equipment will go directly to those places in Chile where people can make the most of it. This plan, with the aim of decentralizing sports, will focus mainly on the regions.
ROAD TO SANTIAGO
The Planning for Parapan American Inclusion area created a program that aims to deepen the knowledge of athletes, technical officials, and coaches about Parapan American sports. It has the support of the International Paralympic Committee and is the seventh edition carried out prior to the Parapan American Games.

TECHNICAL OFFICIALS TRAINING COURSES
As a way to contribute to the legacy of the Games in terms of human talent, Santiago 2023 has developed a comprehensive training plan for National and International Technical Officials for each sport featured in the sporting event. This work has been carried out in conjunction with the National Federations and Pan American Confederations/International Federations, as well as with the collaboration of important universities in the country.
● More than 500 training sessions will be offered to national and international technical officials participating in both Pan American and Parapan American sports competitions in Chile.
SPORTS MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONALS
After the Games, Chile will have a significant workforce of over a thousand workers with experience organizing major sporting events. The team of Santiago 2023, consisting of collaborators from different parts of the world and with experience in multiple events across all sports, will undoubtedly leave behind a remarkable legacy for the country's upcoming challenges in organizing competitions of this magnitude.
PAN AMERICAN LAW
On April 9th, the Congress enacted the initiative with the aim of promoting the hosting of official sports events of international significance in Chile. The enactment of this legislation is justified by the substantial expenses faced by the public Treasury in organizing these events.
The proposed Law introduces modifications to the income tax system in favor of specific sports organizations and taxpayer categories based on their sporting activities, providing them with a 35% benefit. Furthermore, it exempts customs duties and value-added tax on imports of goods necessary for the preparation and development of internationally significant sports championships, providing a 30% benefit.
BROADCASTING ACADEMY
The Broadcasting Academy is a program by Mediapro in collaboration with the Santo Tomas Institute, aiming to leverage the television requirements of the event as an opportunity to train a group of students in the field of telecommunications. To date, 110 students have been trained.
Regarding the television broadcast of the Games, #Santiago2023 will have the highest number of hours of TV coverage, surpassing over 2,000 hours!
