Everything starts next October 20th. Nine thousand athletes and Para athletes from all the American continent will arrive in Chile for the Santiago 2023 Games. This multisport festival will take the streets and screens of international and local TV.
Chilevisión, TVN and Canal 13 will be the official signals free television, and they’ll be joined by paid channels such as TNT Sports and Zapping, which will be integrated through the provision of sublicenses.
The agreement establishes the daily broadcast of seven hours during the Pan American competitions that will be carried out during 17 days, and 5 daily hours in the case of adapted sports. In total, October and November will be remembered as the months in which sports were at the highest in our history, an offer that will be distributed in 60 conventional disciplines and 18 Paralympic.
In addition, it’s considered in the contracts the necessary promotion in order to make this multisport event known, the special scheduling, and diverse actions destined to relieve both the sport content and the social importance, and also the material and cultural legacy that will leave the Games in the history of our country.
TV HISTORICAL BROADCAST
It’ll be a TV broadcast without precedents in our country. The numbers indicate that this will be an edition with a historical coverage. 35 TV mobile units and 26 TV signals availables to the associated media will be used.
All sports will be broadcasted starting at 8:00 a.m. and, in some cases, extending until midnight. In the case of soccer, for example, the matches will be televised with 18 cameras, while those with the greatest local impact will only be covered with ten.
In the case of specific competitions that have a higher complexity level, such as pool sports, the organization has the necessary equipment to record underwater. Also, more than 27 drones will be permanently flying over the competition venues, this way it’ll be possible to make the most out of this technology and its audiovisual attractiveness.
LEGACY: TRAINED STAFF IN SPORT BROADCASTS
Mediapro, a Spanish company, will be in charge of the TV production of the event, and it’s leading an intense training process to professionals of the audiovisual environment.
It started during the beginning of April along with the Instituto Profesional Santo Tomás, the training course of several months has as its objective the delivery of the necessary needs to guarantee sport broadcasts of the highest level. Also, the best evaluated students will be part of the Santiago 2023 Broadcasting team during the Games.
