The eyes of Chilean athletics fans were on Copiapó and Talagante during last weekend. Both districts hosted the two South American Grand Prix organized in our country.
In first place, during Friday, May 19th, it was carried out the Orlando Guaita tournament, the most traditional and important track competition in Chile. The chosen place was the Estadio Atlético Ramón Tapia Chambillo from Copiapó, located in the Atacama Desert.
On this occasion, one of the figures that stood out was Karen Gallardo. The representative of Team Chile, who was born in Copiapó, won the gold medal in discus throw. On the other side, the sprinter Martina Weil was the fastest in female’s 200m, reaffirming her great moment.
