International TV met the details of how the 1,500 Santiago 2023 broadcasting hours will be

The broadcasters from all the continent gather in Chile to learn about the TV production in charge of Mediapro, that will reach 200 million spectators.

The second version of the World Broadcaster Meeting was carried out between last Wednesday and Thursday and it had the physical and online participation of the main Chilean and continental TV channels. They received first-hand information about the  historical broadcast of the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

This will be the first time that the maximum multisport event of the continent will broadcast all the sports, achieving more than 1,500 hours produced by Mediapro, an outstanding Spanish company. Said company will provide TV feeds to the channels that acquire the rights, so they broadcast the Games to more than 200 million people around the world.

The Minister of Sport, Jaime Pizarro, highlighted that “the technology, the capacity to be in all the venues, having the opportunity to cover not only the Pan American but also the Parapan American Games is something that keeps us happy and with a great disposal with the media so together we can make an amazing broadcast.”

In addition, the head of Panam Sports, Neven Ilic, indicated that “I hope the whole world watches the Pan American Games and with the greatest quality. Such an effort is already a reality, Mediapro has the best technologies currently available in the market. We’ll show the whole world and every person that’s here the quality of sports and the great festival we’re preparing for.”

MEDIAPRO WILL HAVE LOCAL ALLIANCES AND IT WILL TRAIN STUDENTS

The Spanish producer company will seek to leave knowledge about sport broadcasts in Chile through an alliance, during the operation in the Games, with the local company TVTEL and the participation of students whose careers are related to Audiovisual Communication. 

The Mediapro Audiovisual Services Director, José Luis Rubio, commented that “the ideal must be the local industry, the national audiovisual network, and in that sense we have absolutely no doubt about the level that exists. Therefore, we’re very confident that the organizations behind the Games will carry out amazing work, and we aim to please all the spectators and right holders, that’s what really matters.”

The TV media interest to cover the Games excites the Santiago 2023 Chief Executive Officer, Gianna Cunazza, who said that “this assure us to comply with one of the most important goals that we have as an organization, which is reaching the most quantity of homes, not just from Chileans, but also from the whole continent.”

Among the media that attended the TV international meeting were national channels such as: TVN, Canal 13, CDO, and Zapping; and as foreign channels were TyC Sports from Argentina and ICRT from Cuba. In addition, there were diverse Latin American TV stations interested in awarding the rights to their respective countries.
