The Sports Minister, Jaime Pizarro, practiced water skiing along with Team Chile

The event was carried out at the Laguna Los Morros, located in the San Bernardo district, which will be venue during the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games. The competitions there will be developed between October 21st and 24th.

The Sports Minister, Jaime Pizarro, visited Laguna Los Morros in San Bernardo last April 13th to share with Water skiing Team Chile, a team that is training in said sporting precinct that will be venue during the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.

The San Bernardo mayor, Christopher White, also attended the event along with the President of the Chilean Olympic Committee, Miguel Ángel Mujica; the President of the Nautical Skiing Federation, Rubén Rosenberg; and also national team athletes related to this sport. Among the attending athletes we can mention the adult world champion Felipe Miranda and his brother Rodrigo; the world junior champion, Daniela Kretschmer, Martín Labra and Matías González, and the Sub-17 Pan American champion, Trinidad Espinal.

During the visit, the Minister participated in a water skiing practical class given by Felipe Miranda. After the experience, the Chilean sport maximum authority indicated that “we're in the vespers of amazing Games and you’ve been part of worldwide tournaments, Pan American and South American ones; so you do know the importance of participating as Chilean representatives in those events. This is a wonderful discipline that has achieved a lot of medals for our country.”

In addition, ‘Pipe’ Miranda was happy because of the instance and indicated that “we’re full of pride that you come to see us here, a place where we’ve been writing a lot of pages for Chilean sport, with titles, and a lot of training hours. In case I classify this will be my last Pan American Games.”

The San Bernardo mayor, Christopher White, said that “I would like to thank the Miranda family’s hospitality. I consider that you Minister set the bar high, and you have also motivated us. I think you gave us the conviction that we’ll achieve great success.”

The Water skiing Team Chile competed in the Latin American specialty developed in Peru, where they achieved 24 medals (12 of them were gold medals) on last April 9th. They ended their participation in the tournament with 39 medals.

The Santiago 2023 Water skiing competitions will be carried out between October 21st and 24th.
