Ottobock, through a collaboration agreement, will provide repair services to the technological implements used by the Para athletes during the competitions and the opening and closing ceremonies.
Ottobock's mission is to improve the quality of life and independence of people with physical impairment, combining knowledge and innovation with high technology. As a result of its expertise, the German company has been present in different Paralympic cycles, including the Tokyo 2020 and Lima 2019 Games.
The agreement also considers a service dome in the Pan American and Parapan American Village, repair workshops in specific venues where Sports with wheelchairs are played, including qualified personnel and materials.
At the next Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, almost two thousand athletes will arrive in Chile to participate in the largest sports festival in the Americas. Of the total number of competitors, 850 are wheelchair users and 500 wear prostheses, so Ottobock has come to guarantee timely and personalized care.
The German firm was founded in 1919, in Berlin. In Latin America, it has participated in many events, such as the Running Clinics, a meeting that seeks to motivate people who have suffered an amputation, conveying the message that sport will always be restorative and inclusive.
