Saturday, November 25th, 2023.- Brazil's dominance in Santiago 2023 has been practically insurmountable in almost all sports, and Para badminton was no exception. Although it seemed at the beginning that they would face tough competition from Peru, as the stages progressed, the Brazilians began to establish clear differences. To such an extent that in the six finals held this afternoon, they secured the gold.
Furthermore, in three of these finals, Brazilian players faced off, ensuring they also took home silver. In the female's division, in the SL4 singles, Ana Carolina Reis defeated Edwarda Oliveira with scores of 18-21, 21-9, and 21-16; and María Silva triumphed over Kauana Beckenkamp with scores of 21-16 and 21-15 in the SL3 singles. Meanwhile, in the WH1-WH2 male's doubles, Julio César Godoy and Marcelo Conceicao overcame Edmar Barbosa and Rodolfo Cano with scores of 21-2 and 21-10.
Other Brazilian victories included Mikaela Almeida's win against Peruvian Diana Rojas with scores of 21-14 and 21-17 in the SU5 female's singles; Yuki Rodrigues over Puerto Rican Manuel del Rosario (21-11 and 21-17) in the SU5 male's singles; and Rogerio Oliveira over Mexican Maximiliano Avilo (21-12 and 21-15) in the SU5 male's singles.
