Saturday, November 25th, 2023.- Canada secured the last spot on the podium in wheelchair basketball at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games after emerging victorious in a dramatic showdown.
The North American team, featuring the world's best player, Patrick Anderson, narrowly defeated Argentina with a score of 70-62 at Polideportivo 1 of the Estadio Nacional.
The course of the game was dynamic on the Ñuñoa parquet. Canada took an early lead in the first quarter, but the Argentine team recovered in the second. However, the North American team gained a slight advantage in the third quarter, which they held onto until the end.
The top scorer of the match was the Argentine Maximiliano Ruggeri, with 23 points, but it was not enough to secure victory for the South Americans. Meanwhile, Anderson contributed 22 points to the winning side.
In this way, Canada claimed the bronze, awaiting the final between Colombia and the United States, scheduled for 5:00 p.m. this Saturday.
