Friday, November 24th, 2023.- The Cuban Omara Durand, a multiple Paralympic champion, advanced without complications to the final of the female's T12 400 meters (visual impairment), where this Saturday she will try to win her third gold medal at Santiago 2023, after those obtained in the 100 and 200 meters.

The islander dominated the semi-finals without opposition, with a time of 55.95 seconds, almost seven seconds faster than the Mexican Daniela Velasco (1:02.87). Also qualifying for the final were Dominican Manuela Jacinto (1:04.00) and Brazilian Lorraine Gomes (1:04.04).

In the T11 final (visual impairment), the Colombian Ionis Salcedo (58.92), Venezuelan Sol Rojas (1:00.41), Mexican Diana Coraza (1:02.79), and Brazilian Thalita Simplicio (1:04.01) advanced.

For the male's T11 1,500 meters, Brazilians Yeltsin Ortega (4:15.72) and Julio César Agripino (4:16.64), the Peruvian Rosbil Guillén (4:17.70), Mexican Alejandro Pacheco (4:25.35), Ecuadorian Jimmy Caicedo (4:26.94), and Chilean Cristián Valenzuela (4:41.31) secured their spots on Friday.

In the male's T47 (physical disability in upper limbs) 100 meters, Brazilian Petrucio Ferreira (10.39), Cuban Raciel González (10.79), Brazilian Washington Assis (10.79), American Tanner Wright (10.98), Brazilian José Martins (11.07), Colombian Joan Lasso (11.20), Dominican Cristián Mejía (11.32), and American Rayven Sample (11.49) qualified for the final.

Finally, in the T11 100 meters, competing for the gold will be American Antoine Craig (11.39), Brazilian Daniel Mendes (11.54), Venezuelan Enderson Santos (11.61), and American David Brown (11.83).
