Brazil Is Now four-time Champion in Male's Goalball

The South Americans, three-time champions in Guadalajara 2011, Toronto 2015, and Lima 2019, reaffirmed their dominance by defeating the United States 11-2 in the final. Both teams will be at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

Friday, November 24th, 2023.- Brazil confirmed that it has no rivals in male's goalball, securing the gold medal with a resounding performance by defeating the United States 12-2.

Since the introduction of this sport in the Pan American Games in Guadalajara 2011, Brazil has always been the champion, facing the United States in each of the finals. Santiago 2023 was no exception, and just like in Guadalajara, Toronto 2015, and Lima 2019, the North Americans had to settle for second place.

However, this time there was a significant prize for the runners-up, in addition to the silver medal: as Brazil was already qualified in advance, the United States secured a spot at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In today's match at the Paralympic Sports Center of the National Stadium, the United States was only a rival in the first half, which ended with a 2-0 deficit. In the final stretch, Brazil was unstoppable, and with a 10-2 advantage, they sealed the decisive victory for their fourth Parapan American title.
