Brazil Secures Bronze in Female's Wheelchair basketball

The green and yellow team surpassed Argentina in the battle for the third position.

Friday, November 24th, 2023.- Emotions took over the Polideportivo 1 of the Estadio Nacional, where there was a day of decisive matches in female's wheelchair basketball at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games on Friday.

In the first match of the afternoon session, the bronze medal final took place, where Brazil dominated against Argentina and secured the third position.

The Brazilian team gained control of the game in the second quarter, building a solid victory with a score of 56-28, thus securing another medal for their delegation.

The standout player of the match was the Brazilian Perla Assuncao, who scored a total of 18 points.

After the victory, Brazilian Vileide Almeida spoke out, expressing her satisfaction with the achievement but making it clear that this is a foundation for aiming higher in the future.

"For us, this medal is very important. We achieved our goal, securing the third place. But this doesn't stop here; we will keep fighting and set high goals to achieve even bigger prizes," said Almeida.

The only thing left to determine in the women's bracket is the champion, with the United States and Canada set to play for the gold starting at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
