Brian Impellizzeri Sets New Pan American Record in T37-38 Long Jump

he Argentinian athlete secured the gold medal and set a new continental record with a jump of 6.65 meters in the male's long jump T47 (physical impairment in upper limbs) at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games. The silver medal went to Colombia, and the bronze was claimed by Canada.

Friday, November 24th, 2023.- Argentinian Brian Impellizzeri won the gold medal in the male's long jump T37-38 (cerebral palsy) held this Friday afternoon at the Centro Atlético Mario Recordón of the Estadio Nacional during the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games.

Impellizzeri marked 6.65 meters on his second jump, enough to replicate the title he achieved four years ago at the Lima 2019 Parapan American Games and, in the process, set a new Parapan American record for his category.

The gold medal for Impellizzeri is Argentina's 18th in this competition, placing the country fifth in the overall standings. Seven of these medals have been contributed by Para athletics.

The silver medal went to Colombian Juan Sebastián Gómez with a jump of 6.41 meters, while the bronze was claimed by Canadian Jesse Zesseu with 5.78 meters.
