Canada Secures the Bronze in Male's Goalball

The North Americans defeated Argentina 6-2 in the battle for third place. The South Americans reached the semi-finals in both male's and female's competitions but were unable to secure any medals.

Friday, November 24th, 2023.- Canada secured the bronze medal in the male's goalball championship at Santiago 2023 by defeating Argentina 6-2. This means that the North Americans retained the third position they had achieved at Toronto 2015 and Lima 2019. Argentina, on the other hand, was unable to step onto the podium, similar to the female's team, which also reached the semi-finals but lost in the bronze medal match (10-0 against Brazil).

The match at the Centro de Deportes Paralímpicos of the Estadio Nacional was close only in the first half. Canada led 2-1 at halftime, and in the second half, they secured the victory, extending the score to the final 6-2.

Both teams had already faced each other in the group stage, with Argentina winning that match 5-4.

The final will be contested between Brazil and the United States.
