Chile to Seek Unprecedented Medal in Blind Football

The local team drew with Mexico and will go for third place in Santiago 2023.

Thursday, November 23rd, 2023.- The Chilean blind football team has never won a medal at the Parapan American level, but in Santiago 2023, they will try to break that streak.

The local team qualified for the bronze medal match after a 0-0 draw against Mexico at the Centro de Deportes Paralímpicos of Estadio Nacional.

The Chileans played a smart game, as the draw secured their spot in the next round, while the Mexicans needed three points to qualify, a situation they couldn't achieve.

In this way, Chile will play for the bronze against Argentina, which surprisingly missed the final after losing 1-0 to Colombia, who will compete for gold against Brazil.

Chile and Argentina will play this Saturday starting at 18:00, while Colombians and Brazilians will compete for the gold on the same day but starting at 20:00.

It's worth noting that this discipline in Santiago 2023 grants spots for Paris 2024.
