Thursday, November 23rd, 2023.- An enormous surprise unfolded on Thursday at the Paralympic Sports Center of the National Stadium as Colombia secured a spot in the final of Blind Football. 

The Colombian team delivered one of the major upsets of the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, advancing to the battle for the gold after a tightly contested match. 

Colombia had to win no matter what to reach the fight for the most coveted medal, and they succeeded with a 1-0 victory, courtesy of a goal from Jhon Eider González in the second minute of the match. 

Afterwards, the 'Murciélagos' (Bats), finalists in Tokyo 2020, pushed hard for an equalizer, and statistics show they had 11 shots on goal, but in reality, they couldn't find the net. 

Colombia is now in the final, and Argentina still has a chance to compete for the gold, although it depends on Brazil not defeating Peru by more than five goals.
