Thursday, November 23rd, 2023.- Gabriel dos Santos continues to enlarge his figure at the Parapan American Games. The popular Gabrielzinho added his third gold medal in Santiago 2023 this morning, after winning the 50m backstroke S2 at the National Stadium Park Aquatic Center.

The Brazilian prodigy set out with determination to hunt for another gold medal, and he achieved it with all honors, beating the record for the distance he had set the previous Monday on the same track, shaving 21 hundredths off the mark.

In this way, the Para-athlete from Rio Grande do Sul prevailed with a time of 56.70 seconds, with a significant lead over his competitors, Mexican Cristopher Tronco and Chilean Alberto Abarza, who finished with a 5.33-second difference but with a photo finish in favor of the Mexican, who secured the silver.

The race also set the stage for another Parapan American record. Brazilian José Ronaldo, in the S1 category, surpassed the previous mark set on Monday and secured the sixth place with a time of 1:19.19, nearly eleven seconds faster than the previous time.

In the rest of the morning session, Argentine Analuz Pellitero won gold in the 100m backstroke S11, setting a Parapan American record, as did Brazilian Douglas Rocha, who emerged victorious in the 400m freestyle S13.
