Wednesday, November 22nd, 2023.- In the battle for the secondary positions in the female wheelchair basketball competition at Santiago 2023, Colombia defeated Chile 48-33 and will now play for the fifth and sixth positions against Peru.

On the other hand, the Chilean team has lost all their matches in the tournament but will have one last chance to secure a victory when they face El Salvador for the seventh and eighth positions.

The first three-quarters today at the Polideportivo 1 at the Estadio Nacional favored the Colombian team, 18-8, 15-12, and 7-2. Only the last quarter was won by the Chilean team, 11-8, but it was too late to turn the score around.

"We come from heavy fatigue; yesterday we played in the afternoon, and now early in the morning, and we were really tired. Besides, Colombia is a very powerful team. We still have a way to go to reach this level," acknowledged the Chilean forward Belén Molina.

On the other hand, the Colombian player Magda Victoria stated, "We have been playing in a very compact manner. The Chilean girls are tough warriors and have a whole future ahead of them."
