Close Victory for Peru Over Chile in Female's Wheelchair Basketball

In the closest result of the tournament, the Peruvian team emerged victorious with a score of 47-44, securing their first win of the competition. Meanwhile, the Chilean team concluded the first round with three losses.

Tuesday, November 21st, 2023.- In the closest match of the female's wheelchair basketball competition, Peru defeated Chile 47-44, securing their first victory in Group B. Meanwhile, the hosts concluded their participation in the first round with three losses in as many games. 

Both teams will now play for the final positions from fifth to eighth, while Argentina and Canada, the other two members of the group, will be in the semifinals. 

At the Polideportivo 1 of Estadio Nacional, Peru practically sealed the victory in the first quarter, which they won 19-7. In the three remaining periods, Chile outscored their opponents, but the margin was not enough to level the final score: 12-11 in the second quarter, 12-9 in the third, and 13-8 in the last, resulting in a final score of 47-44. 

The top scorer of the game was Chilean Belén Molina with 15 points, while Karina Torres stood out for Peru with 14 points.
