Gold for Chile in Para Powerlifting Mixed Team

Juan Carlos Garrido, Jorge Carinao, and Camila Campos secured the best Parapan American performance in the host country's history with the eleventh gold medal.

Tuesday, November 21st, 2023.- The victory of Chile in the mixed team Para Powerlifting event on Tuesday at the Gimnasio Chimkowe in Peñalolén sparked widespread celebrations. This gold medal marked the eleventh for the host country at Santiago 2023, making it the best Chilean performance in the history of this continental event.

Juan Carlos Garrido, Jorge Carinao, and Camila Campos achieved a score of 355.4, triumphing over the Colombian team, which scored 117.9 and secured the silver medal with Eglain Mena, Carlos Yajue, and Bertha Fernpández.

Meanwhile, the bronze medal went to Brazil (with a score of 352.8 through Bruno Carra, Joao Franca, and Mariana D’Andrea), surpassing Cuba (with 336.4 from Yaime Bongo, Jesús Cuevas, and Pablo Ramírez).
