Blind Football: Chile Makes History Against Peru

The host team defeated the Peruvian representation by 2-0, securing its first victory in this discipline in all Parapan American Games.

Monday, November 20th, 2023.- Team ParaChile continues to make history at Santiago 2023. This, as the Chilean blind football team defeated Peru 2-0 in the preliminary round of Group A, securing their first victory in this discipline in the history of the Games. 

The national team earned their first three points thanks to two fantastic goals from Esteban Campos and Víctor Hugo Silva, sparking the enthusiasm of the fans at theCentro de Deportes Paralímpicos. 

On the other hand, Peru regretted the expulsion of Alcides Beltrán for a double yellow card, which occurred five minutes into the game. 

Blind football competition will continue on Wednesday for Chile with a match against Colombia, starting at 4:00 p.m. local time. 

In other results from Monday's matches, Brazil defeated Colombia 1-0, while Argentina beat Mexico 4-0.
