Brazil Comfortably Surpasses 100 Medals at Santiago 2023

The South American giant has a total of 124 medals, 54 of them gold. In the second position on the list is the United States, albeit at a distance. Meanwhile, Chile had a perfect day and climbed to fourth position.

Monday, November 20th, 2023.- Pentachampions. That is the goal Brazil is aiming for at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games, and with less than half the journey completed, it seems that the team has practically secured that objective.

The delegation from the South American giant, which won the Games at Rio 2007, Guadalajara 2011, Toronto 2015, and Lima 2019, has become a force in the Chilean capital, now totaling 124 medals.

The Brazilians dominate in almost every discipline, securing 54 gold medals, 37 silvers, and 33 bronzes.

They have particularly excelled in Para swimming, where they already have 27 first-place finishes.

Slowly but steadily, the United States is solidifying its position in second place on the medal table, with 14 golds, 11 silvers, and 20 bronzes (45 in total). Meanwhile, Colombia is in third place with a total of 44 medals, including 12 golds, 16 silvers, and 16 bronzes.

The local team, Chile, had a great day, adding five gold medals to reach a total of 10 golds, matching their achievement at Lima 2019. They also surpassed Argentina in the medal standings, securing the fourth position with 11 silvers and 7 bronzes.
