Argentina Triumphs in Thrilling Duel Against Canada in Male's Goalball

The South American team secured victory in the last moments against the Canadians at Santiago 2023.

Monday, November 20th, 2023.- Goalball continues to deliver excitement at the Estadio Nacional’s Centro de Deportes Paralímpicos, and in the Group B of the male's bracket, one of the most entertaining matches of the competition took place. 

In the second game of the afternoon session, Argentina turned the result around and won 5-4 against Canada at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games. 

In the first half, the North Americans took the lead 1-0, but in the final 12 minutes, the South Americans showed their resilience by scoring five goals and securing the victory. 

The standout player in the match in the Ñuñoa commune was the Argentinian Leonardo Jazmín, who scored a hat trick. 

Group B was won by the United States with nine points, leaving Canada and Argentina behind with three points each, while Venezuela has not scored any points. 

On Tuesday, the group stage concludes at 10:45 a.m. with the match between Argentina and Venezuela. 

It's worth noting that this discipline provides qualification spots for Paris 2024.
