Shooting Para Sport: Cuban Yenigladys Suárez Adds Another Gold for Her Country

The Cuban athlete was the best in the P4-50m SH1 Mixed Pistol category, with competitions taking place at the Polígono de Tiro de Pudahuel.

Monday, November 20th, 2023.- On Monday, the Cuban delegation secured another gold medal when Yenigladys Suárez claimed the top spot in the P4-50m SH1 Mixed Pistol category in Shooting Para Sport.

She achieved a score of 206.9 after nine series at the Polígono de Tiro de Pudahuel. The second place, and consequently the silver medal, went to fellow Cuban Di Angelo Loriga with 201.7, and the bronze medal was awarded to Brazilian Geraldo Von Rosenthal with 163.7.

It is worth noting that in Shooting Para Sport, the athlete must shoot a firearm or compressed air gun, whether it is a rifle or a pistol, aiming to hit a target divided into 10 concentric rings.

The shooters fire from different positions (standing, sitting, and prone) and at various distances, which can vary between 10, 25, and 50 meters.

This Monday, Shooting Para Sport also includes competitions in the R1/R2 10m Mixed Standing Air Rifle SH1 and R5-10m Mixed Prone Air Rifle SH2 categories.
