Para Archery: Mexican Samuel Molina Broke the Record in Recurve Bow

The North American athlete set a new record during the qualification stage and is already contemplating his participation at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

Sunday, November 19th, 2023.- On this Sunday, Mexican archer Samuel Molina achieved an outstanding result in Para Archery by breaking the record for the Parapan American Games in the recurve bow during the qualifying stage, scoring 642. 

This accomplishment surpasses the previous record held by American archer Eric Bennett with a score of 635, set at Toronto 2015. 

"I am truly overjoyed; we have worked very hard with my coach to achieve this position. We have made good progress in these Games, although there are some minor details we need to address. But I am very happy," expressed the representative of Team Mexico. 

Regarding his achievement, the Mexican admitted, "We never set out to break a record; our goal is always to surpass our personal best, that's what we aim for." 

Samuel Molina has already secured a spot for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, so he plans to focus on continual improvement. In his own words, "Thankfully, we have secured a spot for Paris 2024, so what's next is to gain strength and mental fortitude to keep progressing."
