Sunday, November 19, 2023.- This Sunday, Cuban Yenigladys Suárez secured the first place and the corresponding gold medal in the P2-10m Air Pistol SH1 category of shooting Para sport at Santiago 2023, held at the Polígono de Tiro de Pudahuel.

The islander athlete achieved a score of 225.1 after nine rounds. The silver medal went to the Costa Rican Paola Arana with 222.1, and the bronze medal was awarded to the Brazilian Debora Campos, with 201.8.

In the first part of the day, the American Marco de la Rosa won the gold medal in the P1-10m Air Pistol SH1 Male's category.

It's worth noting that in shooting Para sports, athletes must shoot a firearm or compressed air gun, whether it be a rifle or a pistol, and hit a target divided into 10 concentric rings.

Shooters fire from different positions (standing, sitting and stretched out) and at different distances, which can vary between 10, 25, and 50 meters.
