Sunday, November 19th, 2023.- Parapan American champions in the individual competition, Tamara Leonelli and Maximiliano Rodríguez, are now hopeful for another gold medal for Chile, this time in the mixed doubles of Para Table Tennis.
The local team duo advanced to the semifinals after defeating the Argentine pair of Mauro Depérgola and Verónica Blanco in three sets in the quarterfinals, with scores of 11-5, 11-4, and 11-8.
On Saturday, the excellent performance of the Chileans was rewarded with gold medals, adding to the two others secured by Florencia Pérez and Luis Flores, in a remarkable performance by Team Para Chile.
This Sunday, they aim to repeat history with the support of the audience, playing together at the table at Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico.
The next challenge will be, starting at 5:30 p.m., the Mexican pair composed of Martha Verdín and Francisco González.
It's the final hurdle to overcome for the Chilean duo to advance to the coveted gold medal match.
