Para Road Cycling Won't Stop Spinning at Santiago 2023

The locality of Isla de Maipo is the venue for the discipline where time trial events have been uninterruptedly contested since early Sunday morning.

Sunday, November 19th, 2023.- This Sunday, the Para road cycling tests are taking place, with cyclists covering the locality of Isla de Maipo, located on the outskirts of Santiago.

Medals have already been awarded in the C 1-5 - Individual Time Trial category, both for male and female.

In the male's series, the winner of the gold medal was the Canadian Alexandre Hayward, with a time of 26:21.14.

The silver medal went to the Brazilian Lauro Moro, with a time of 27:06.06. The bronze went to the Canadian Michael Sametz, with a time of 27:25.14.

In the female's series, the best was the American Samantha Bosco, with 15:08.01.

The silver medal was won by her compatriot Jamie Whitmore, with 15:29.13, and the bronze was claimed by the Colombian Daniela Munevar with 15:33.43.

Earlier, in the B - Individual Time Trial category, for both male and female, the first medals were awarded.

In the male's series, the winner of the gold medal was Argentinian Maximiliano Gómez, with a time of 28:27.53.

He was followed by Colombian Nelson Serna (silver with 28:46.36) and Chilean Matías Mansilla (bronze with 30:57.85).

In the female's series, the best was the Brazilian Bianca Canovas, winning gold with 33:14.22. The podium was completed by the Argentinians María Quiroga (silver with 34:16.25) and María Cruceño (bronze with 34:55.88).

The day on the streets of Isla de Maipo continues with competitions in the H 1-5 - Individual Time Trial (Male and Female) and T 1-2 - Mixed Individual Time Trial categories.
