Para Road Cycling: The Emotion of the Mansilla Brothers

This Sunday, they secured Chile's first medal of the day, a bronze in the B category - Individual Time Trial.

Sunday, November 19th, 2023.- This Sunday, Chilean cyclist Matías Mansilla earned the bronze medal in the B category - Individual Time Trial, with a time of 30:57.85 at Isla de Maipo.

He achieved this feat with the company of his brother Marcelo, a historic accomplishment that brought the Team Para Chile's medal count to fourteen so far at the Santiago 2023 Parapan American Games.

"Marcelo is my younger brother; we have a year and a half age difference, and he has always been my guide. Our life is like this, and his assistance on the bicycle has not been difficult because we have coordinated since childhood. With a sound that we know, for example, we shift gears," said Matías Mansilla.

"One feels a kind of 'little push' when they shout. The support of people while cycling is very helpful, so it's good that they come to cheer on all Para-athletes during the Games. We have always cycled together, first with different bicycles and now with a shared one," added Marcelo Mansilla.
