Para Road Cycling: The First Medals Are Awarded

At Isla de Maipo, the Parapan American cycling competition takes place.

Sunday, November 19th, 2023.- Early this Sunday, the Para road cycling began, with athletes covering the Santiago locality of Isla de Maipo, located about 40 kilometers southwest of the Chilean capital.

In the individual time trial category B, for both male and female, the first medals were awarded.

In the male's category, the winner of the gold medal was the Argentinian Maximiliano Gómez, with a time of 28:27.53.

He was followed by the Colombian Nelson Serna (silver with 28:46.36) and the Chilean Matías Mansilla (bronze with 30:57.85).

In the female's category, the best was the Brazilian Bianca Canovas, winning gold with a time of 33:14.22. The podium was completed by the Argentinians María Quiroga (silver with 34:16.25) and María Cruceño (bronze with 34:55.88).

The day on the streets of Isla de Maipo continues with competitions in the C 1-5 category - individual time trial (male and female), H 1-5 category - individual time trial (male and female) and T 1-2 category - mixed individual time trial.
