Sunday, November 19th, 2023.- We have reached the fourth day of competitions at the seventh Parapan American Games, and the excitement is building.
Santiago 2023 features 14 disciplines on this Sunday, so there is no excuse not to support the representatives of the countries that have come to Chile, along with the local participants.
Wheelchair basketball starts at 8:00 a.m. local time at the Polideportivo 1 of Estadio Nacional, with the following matches: Colombia vs. Puerto Rico, Brazil vs. United States, Canada vs. Venezuela, and Chile vs. Argentina (in the male's category); Colombia vs. Brazil and Canada vs. El Salvador (in the female's category).
In the Centro Deportivo Comunitario of Lo Espejo commune, the boccia competition will take place starting at 9:30 a.m. local time.
In the afternoon, there will be three blind football matches at the Centro de Deportes Paralímpicos: Chile vs. Brazil at 4:00 p.m., Mexico vs. Colombia at 6:00 p.m., and Argentina vs. Peru at 8:00 p.m.
PC football, an adaptation of eleven-a-side football, includes the following matches at the Bicentenario Stadium in La Florida: Argentina vs. United States (2:30 p.m.), Venezuela vs. Chile (5:00 p.m.), and Brazil vs. Canada (7:30 p.m.)
Goalball, hosted at the Paralympic Sports Center, has matches starting at 9:30 a.m. for both male (Canada vs. Venezuela, Brazil vs. Mexico, United States vs. Argentina, and Colombia vs. Chile) and female (Argentina vs. Guatemala and Peru vs. Chile).
Judo kicks off at 10 a.m. at the Centro de Deportes de Contacto of Estadio Nacional , with medal decisions in four categories: -60 kg J1/J2 male, -73 kg J1/J2 male, -48 kg J1/J2 female, and -57 kg J1/J2 female.
Para cycling road events will take place in Isla de Maipo, with seven categories determining medals: B - Individual Time Trial Male, B - Individual Time Trial Female, C 1-5 – Individual Time Trial Men, C 1-5 – Individual Time Trial Female, H 1-5 – Individual Time Trial Female, H 1-5 – Individual Time Trial Female, and T 1-2 – Mixed Individual Time Trial.
The Aquatic Center at the National Stadium will host twenty decisive events with medal presentations.
Para powerlifting, at the Chimkowe Gymnasium, will have five categories with decisions starting from 10:30 a.m.: Male -54 kg Group A, Female -67 kg Group A, Male -97 kg Group A, Female-45 kg Group A, and Male -107 kg, +107 kg Group A.
Para table tennis, taking place since last Thursday at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico (CEO) gymnasium, has activities throughout the day on its eight tables.
Para archery begins its Sunday schedule at 9 a.m., while wheelchair rugby, at the Collective Sports Center, features four matches: Colombia vs. Chile at 11 a.m., Brazil vs. Canada at 1 p.m., United States vs. Colombia at 4:30 p.m., and Brazil vs. Argentina at 6:30 p.m.
Wheelchair tennis is underway from 11 a.m. in both female's and male's categories, and para shooting, held at the Polígono de Tiro de Pudahuel, will award medals in the P1-10m Air Pistol SH1 Male and P2-10m Air Pistol SH1 Female categories.
