Para Table Tennis Doubles: Chile Prevails Over Panama

The duo of Matías Pino and Ignacio Torres won in three sets, while the female pair, consisting of Almendra Ortiz and Tamara Leonelli, couldn't succeed against Mexico and lost by the same score.

Saturday, November 18th, 2023.- In Para Table Tennis, both in the male's and female's doubles, Chile experienced a victory and a defeat at the conclusion of Saturday's matches held at the Centro de Entrenamiento Olímpico.

The team of Matías Pino and Ignacio Torres defeated the Panamanian pair Julio Jesús Evans and Francisco Córdoba with a triple score of 11-4. In the male's Group B, the Chilean duo faces a tough match on Sunday against the United States team comprised of Marco Makkar and Ian Seidenfeld, scheduled to be played from 11:30 a.m. local time.

Meanwhile, the female's pair, formed by Tamara Leonelli and Almendra Ortiz, succumbed to the Mexican team of María Sigala and Martha Verdin by a decisive 3-0, with scores of 11-4, 12-10, and 11-8. On Sunday, they will confront the Brazilian duo of Thais Fraga and Marliane Amaral at 4:00 p.m. in the second match for Group B.
